Just adding to the 5 stars for it really.

First off, packaging is nice. Everything is compartmentalized making it very efficient use of space. There doesn’t really seem to be any empty, unused space in the box meaning that it’s “green” in a way. The box is sturdy though making sure to house it’s contents protectively. The finish is nice and shiny and the colors very vivid.

Next, the contents. A copy of the standard edition of Gears of War 3, 2 Gears of War 3 themed controllers (with 2 batteries for each controller), a Gears of War 3 themed, slim, Xbox 360 console, composite cables, power brick and a black Xbox 360 headset.

A standard copy of the Gears 3 game is most definitely acceptable, but a limited edition version of the game with the limited edition console makes more sense in my opinion. Inside the game case were some Gears of War 3 stickers, the game, 2 codes; one for Adam Fenix multiplayer character and the other for the Infected Omen weapon skins as well as the “Instruction Booklet”. The “Instruction Booklet” is one page, folded in half. Its content is the controls to the game with a picture of the 360 controller as its main imagery. Not much there, but I guess it’s once again being “green” by having practically no content. I’ll leave reviews of the game up to the people who are doing that, but my two cents is that if you liked Gears 1 or 2 or both, then you’ll be happy with 3. If you haven’t played either before, as long as third person shooters are your thing, you’ll like it as well.

The two Gears of War 3 controllers are very nice. I guess the new controllers Microsoft is selling now have a modifiable directional pad. You twist it around and it changes how the D-pad feels; either more like a + symbol or like the original 360 D-pad. I kinda like the + symbol myself. Oh, plus the D-pad is chrome on these Gears controllers. The surface is smooth to the touch (like a piano) where the face buttons are and has some texture on the bottom half (the side where your your fingers go). Just like any Xbox 360, wireless controller, these have great range. The Gears 3 graphics on them are pretty much the same as what is on the console itself, but that’s a good thing as I find it very appealing. The controllers are already synced up to the console too making set up that much easier.

Speaking of the console, it’s quite sexy. I upgraded from a Modern Warfare 2 edition to this one and there are a few things I am enjoying right off the bat. First off, if you still have the older 360, the slims in general are quieter. If you copy the games to the HDD, then it’s almost silent….very nice! Also, with this console also comes the Gears 3 sounds. When you touch the On/Off Power button directly on the console, you will hear a little sound bite from the Gears games (if you’ve played any of them before, it should sound familiar). Also, when you touch the Open/Close button directly on the console, you’ll hear a different sound. The only thing I have found to be an issue with the sound is the built in speaker in the system that plays them is cheap or in a bad spot in the console. When the sound comes out, the system itself or the speaker rattles a little bit making the sounds come out slightly distorted (picture having a radio up to loud). FYI, when turning the console on or off or when opening or closing the tray using the controller, the sounds do not play. The 320GB HDD is more than enough room for all your stuff and can hold plenty of games burned to the HDD if that’s your thing. There are more USB ports on the backside of the console too (I think there are 3 or 4 on the back and 2 in the front). I generally don’t use the USB ports on my 360’s for anything, but the fact there are more is a plus. There’s an HDMI port in the back if you can use it, but you’ll have to purchase your own HDMI cable (you can find them really cheap on Amazon btw). Wireless networking is built right into this thing so you don’t have to go out and purchase an additional adapter to go wireless. And just in case you missed my comment earlier, the same graphics and smooth finish on the controller is also on the console itself.

As for the remaining contents, they are pretty much self explanatory. Overall, I think right now the price is justified considering what you are getting. The only thing that kind of ticks me off is that it took Microsoft so long to get the 360 right. Reports of RROD have fallen (at least from what I’ve seen and read online)and the console seems to be at its peak in performance and reliability. If you haven’t purchased a 360 before, now is the time and getting this edition of the console is a safe bet.

PROS:
1) Gears of War 3 graphics are nicely done.
2) Gears of War 3 sounds.
3) 2 controllers versus 1 (with batteries and synced)
4) Copy of Gears of War 3 (with DLC codes)
5) The Slim 360 is way better than its previous predecessor.
6) 320GB Hard Drive.

CONS:
1) Gears of War 3 themed sounds come out a little distorted (maybe it was just my console too).
2) Gears of War 3 LE should have been included (this is more of a personal preference and I can understand if the packaging didn’t allow for it to fit or if they would have lost money on the deal, just saying….)

Armitron Women’s 752433BLK NOW Diamond Accented Silver-Tone Bangle Dress Watch

I bought this watch because i was searching something small, elegant but nota a red carpet thing, and i found it with this armitron watch, its trully small …but i have a thin wrist (it fits me so good) i trully recommend it forma people who wants the elegant casual style

another classy looking and well built watch from Armitron. I bought one in blue a while back for my wife. I saw this newer version and ordered it. All in all this watch looks a touch better.

The bracelet is the same style, but a bit smaller in size, but should fit just about any woman. For the price you can’t go wrong. Both watches get endless compliments and everyone is surprised at the low cost.

The picture just can’t do justice to how it looks in person. Very reliable also. The low profile makes it ideal for both a dress watch and day to day wear. Outstanding!

I got this watch to wear to work daily as my expensive titan’s band needed a replacement..I have had this for almost an year now and works perfectly.. Its cute and fits my thin and very small wrist perfectly. I have a really small wrist, so I had been looking for watches with small dials and this purchase did not disappoint me. As the band is steel/silver color, it goes with any outfit I wear for work. Got many compliments too…many people mistook it for a very expensive watch …:) It got wet few times and I was scared if it would stop working, but luckily it did not. I gave only 4 stars because the balck ring around the dial makes it look little bit cheap like a plastic thing..otherwise, it deserves 5 stars…worth buying for what you pay..

When the watch arrived, I was initially surprised how small this watch is. The diameter is barely an inch!

When I first put it on it felt nothing too special. However after a day of wearing it I noticed the huge difference of this watch compared to my old ones. This one, does not get into my way of working. Normally when I wear a watch to work I will take it off in the middle of the day becaues it bothers me one way or another. The feeling of something on my wrist constantly while I type or flip through papers just is not pleasant. However for this watch I was able to wear it whole day without feeling any discomfort. Often I don’t realize it is on unless I am in the bathroom washing hands.

So for that reason alone I am now wearing it everyday. Plus it has all the things a bangle black dial dress watch should have. It is small and delicate, elegant and classic. I recommend this watch to anybody who is looking for a sleek yet comfortable watch.

Levi’s Men’s 505 Straight Fit Jean Reviews

While much of the negative commentary concerned Levi Strauss’s move away from domestic manufacturing has focused on the button-fly 501s, the bigger problem I have seen is with the old 1970’s standby, the 505, which has a zipper as opposed to button fly. The variability on sizing and sew quality with the 505s is an issue if you are going to buy them online or mail order. You really have to try them on to see how they fit. The 501 are much easier to buy online or by mail order because the sizing is much less critical on the waist, which is the so-called “anti-fit” waist, meaning there is no curve to the rise (the distance between the crotch and the top of the waist), because the original 501s were merely cut down bib overalls which were made to hang, rather than be fitted to the waist. The biggest problem I have noted on the 505’s is the variability in size in the thigh area, meaning that some fit baggy and some seem rather tight, even though they are theoretically the same size of a label. Since the 501s are more forgiving as far as sizing, if you are buying online you might consider them instead of 505s, unless you don’t want the button fly.

The levi’s arrived promptly and were perfect…They came via USPS and were in a kevlar type package…I am totally happy with the purchase (as is my husband..the jeans were for him). I liked NOT having to go to a store for the purchase

Levi’s has replaced their 505 regular fit jeans with this abomination, which is a completely different product. The straight fit jeans are not cut the same as the old regular fit jeans and you cannot trust the size. Worse, they only have five belt loops instead of seven, so they do not stay up. The fabric used is also inferior to the original 505 regular fit jeans. Before ordering, be sure to have a look at these things in a store to see if this is really what you want to purchase. Levi’s had better figure out a way to sell these to the teeny boppers because their customer base sure isn’t going to buy them.

Timex Women’s T5J151 1440 Sports Digital Watch

This mid-sized Timex Sports digital watch (model T5J151) features a durable pink and silver resin watch case with easy-to-access side buttons and quickly readable large digital display. Sport timing features include a 24-hour chronograph and 24-hour countdown timer. Other features include a daily alarm, dual time zone display, and water resistance to 50 meters (165 feet). It’s completed by a comfortable gray polyurethane strap with a tapered profile.

The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer.

This is a a very attractive watch which is definitely a plus. Also, the watch is relatively easy to use. However there a few drawbacks. For example, after thirty minutes, the watch no longer records seconds, only minutes. This unfortunately makes this watch futile unless you are a beginner and are not too concerned with precision. I wouldn’t recommend this watch for a serious or experienced runner. ( I am a sprinter that has taken up cross country thus i found this watch served its purpose considering I was running cross country to improve in sprinting events). Another major drawback is the lack of directions with the watch. I mean I understand the watch is only twenty bucks but can I get some fricking directions????!!!

Reliable watch has withstood two deployments to Iraq, among other things, and still works great. Date, alarm, indiglo, stopwatch, and dual time zone features have been very useful. Plastic parts aren’t colored all the way through and are wearing off on some edges, but that’s absolutely acceptable given the wear I’ve put on it. The face is still clear with no major scratches despite my scraping it against everything. I don’t think you can beat the durability and functionality of this watch for the price.

This watch is priced cheaply for a reason. I bought two Timex watches to replace my old running watch – this one and a more expensive Timex Ironman, which cost $34. I wanted to see if there was really a difference and there is.

The main issue is the buttons. They are small metal knobs on the side and difficult to push. By the time you have finished setting the watch, your fingers are sore. Fine if you only set the watch once, but if you are buying this for any of the other features, you will be pushing these buttons a lot: every time you use the chrono, timer, or alarm functions. Also, every time you switch between functions.

Also, there is one less button on this watch, the lap button. You are not able to time laps on this watch! So you have set, mode, indiglo and stop/start. The Ironman series has set/RECALL, mode, indiglo, stop/reset and start/split. The start/split button is on the top of the watch, making it easy to use while on a run.

These issues do not make it a bad watch, just not a substitute for a real digital running/timing watch. I will keep it in the drawer as a backup, but I wouldn’t order another one.

I have used Battery Tender, on my motorcycle, for 6 years. This is why I purchased one for my wife’s Mustang that will also sit through the winter. I am also pleased with this new unit,which I have hooked up buying the additional cigarrette lighter adapter. Note: wasn’nt sure if I needed to buy the additional extension, but I did, knowing with Amazon I could send back. Glad I purchased it, because it is way better than having the whole charger sitting in the car.

Vivitar unveils affordable 3D camera and video recorder

Interested in getting your hands on an affordable 3D camera to record the festive season? Well, look no further as Vivitar has unveiled the ViviCam VT135 and the 790HD. The former is a point-and-shoot camera while the latter is a video recorder that’s pictured above.

US retail madness takes a bite out of Thanksgiving

WASHINGTON — It’s one of the biggest US holidays, but some Americans are wondering if Thanksgiving, and the shop-until-you-drop Black Friday that follows it, might be getting a bit out of control.

Some 38.2 million Americans will hit the highway for the four-day holiday weekend that begins Thursday, with another 3.4 million taking to the air, the AAA motorists’ association says.

Most will go back to their home towns for a family Thanksgiving dinner, with 88 percent of them tucking into roast turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce, according to the National Turkey Federation.

Americans go through 46 million turkeys at Thanksgiving, more than double the 22 million consumed a month later at Christmas.

Once they’ve polished off their pumpkin-pie desserts, many will be off to the shopping malls for the pre-Christmas shopping melee known as Black Friday, when retailers slash prices on clothing, toys and consumer electronics.

“The amount of Black Friday shoppers will increase from 212 million last year to 225 million this year,” says blackfriday2011.com, a kind of WikiLeaks for consumers looking to see Black Friday advertisements before publication.

So important is Black Friday to retailers — potentially more than $20 billion in sales, according to market analysis firm SpendingPulse — that many big-name outlets are opening earlier than ever.

Sears will be open on Thanksgiving morning, while Toys ‘R’ Us will open its doors at 10 pm Thursday, its earliest Black Friday opening ever. Walmart’s jumbo-sized supercenters won’t close at all.

“They’re all trying to take market share away from each other,” Cynthia Groves, head of global retail consulting at Newmarket Knight Frank in Washington, told AFP on Monday.

Not everyone is happy. More than 190,000 signed an online petition calling on Target, a food and department store chain, to rethink its plan to open at midnight Thanksgiving night.

“It’s a national holiday, not a national shopping day,” wrote one signer, Bryce Allision of Portland, Oregon. “Encouraging people to shop in the middle of the night is bizarre,” added Scotty Brookie from Santa Cruz, California.

Anthony Hardwick, 29, a Target employee in Omaha, Nebraska, started the petition because he thought it was unfair for employees to go to work on what is supposed to be a family holiday.

But Anahita Cameron, a Target human resources executive, defended the idea of bargain-hunting at the witching hour.

“Our guests have expressed that they would prefer to kick off their holiday shopping by heading out after their holiday celebrations rather than getting up in the middle of the night,” she said, using Target’s euphemism for customers.

It’s all a far cry from the original Thanksgiving in 1621 when Pilgrim settlers from England sat down with native Americans for a three-day feast in modern-day Massachusetts to thank God for bountiful harvests in the New World.

Emulating that meal this year will cost $49.20 for a family of 10, up $5.73 from last year, the American Farm Bureau Federation estimates.

That estimate includes a 16-pound turkey, bread stuffing, sweet potatoes, bread rolls and butter, peas, cranberries, a relish tray of carrots and celery, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, and coffee and milk — but not wine or beer.

Turkey itself is 22 percent more expensive, due in part to growing demand from China for American turkey parts.

Heeding a White House tradition going back to 1947, Barack Obama will be exercising his special powers of presidential pardon to spare two turkeys — this year from Minnesota — from the meat cleaver.

Last year’s fortunate pair, brothers Apple and Cider, ended up in a turkey coop on the grounds of founding father George Washington’s rural estate at Mount Vernon, south of the US capital.

But animal rights group PETA wants to see all turkeys pardoned.

“Regarded by many as little more than a holiday centerpiece, turkeys are as varied in personality as dogs and cats,” it said on its website in a campaign to promote meat-free Thanksgiving alternatives.

“They relish having their feathers stroked and like to chirp, cluck, and gobble along to their favorite tunes. This year, give turkeys something to be thankful for — pledge to go vegan and leave them off your plate.”

And Americans weary of cooking a big dinner — and cleaning up afterwards — are opting to go out for Thanksgiving at restaurants like the Green Mill in Wichita, Kansas, where a special buffet is priced at $13.95 per adult and $9.95 for children under 10. Reservations are recommended.

“A lot of people do seem to be interested in eating out at Thanksgiving,” said Farm Bureau economist John Anderson, who intends to do just that with his family this year. “It saves time.”

I wall mount my monitors to clear space on the desk. This usually works out well, but the problem with this setup is it is right beside my conventional 27″ LCD.
Uh. Bad idea. The other monitor just appears so LAME and FEEBLE next to this thing, I’m ashamed of it, and cannot imagine how I read or viewed anything on it. And it IS a decent LCD monitor. Or was a few days ago.
This will spoil you.
The images and text are so crisp and sharp, colors are pure and brilliant.
This is like going from a CRT. A dirty one. (Same video card as the system next to it, so the systems had nothing to do with the comparison.)

One does have to do a little groping to find the buttons on the right side (They are actually on the rear edge) to adjust the brightness and contrast..Which you will want to do unless you have set the system up on the beach, or unless you habitually wear welding goggles.

The vendor shipped instantly. It arrived the day before my new computer. No-brainer plug and play. Windows 7 recognized it instantly.
At the low price, I cannot imagine anyone being dissapointed..It’s a great value.

A benefit to LED illumination is that the most frequent cause of failures in LCD monitors I have had over the years has been the backlighting. When that fails, it usually ends up being the end of the product life.

PS3 Ear Force PX21 Gaming Headset Reviews

I bought this after reading the reviews but assumed that the hiss that was talked about was from audiophiles. WRONG! I plugged it in and had the chat sound all the way down. There was a barely audible sound that disappeared as soon as the game started playing. Great! Then I turned up the chat and realized that the hiss was horrible and went up directly in line with the level I turned up the chat. The result is a very disappointing headset. I only gave it two stars because of the excellent game sound.

These headsets I bought for my son. He uses them on his PS3 and really really loves the fatc that he can hear everything much more clearly. These arrived a day early and so far these have been spectacular.

First off, I find it slightly amusing that Amazon has the rating system for this gaming headset require the reviewer to rate “How much fun is this game?” and “How do you rate this game overall?” Perhaps because this is in the video game section of Amazon, I suppose. Obviously, I chose 5 stars, though those 5 stars cannot be applied to a concept that is moot in regard to the product, I still want the product to have 5 stars overall.

I have only had this headset for a couple weeks. Since then, however, I have put it to extensive use: I’ve used this headset for playing Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Modern Warfare 3, and I have watched Netflix television shows and movies. As Uncharted 3 was listed, I think you realize that I have used this for PS3.

The Physical:
The cord for the headset is plenty long. The remote is integrated into the cord; there is no chance of losing it. Except if you lose the cord, which is attached to the headset, then you’ve lost the entire headset. Why’d you do that? The remote not only contains the volume adjustment wheel, but also a chat volume wheel, a bass adjustment wheel, a mute tab, and a surround sound type tab. The remote also has a clip so that you can clip it on your shirt or something. The only downnside to the remote, in my experience, is that if you don’t clip it to something, as I often do not, and let it lay across your lap or whatever, the volume wheels can be adjusted as you move your body or if the remote falls off your lap to the floor. I don’t mean the wheels adjust via gravity or motion itself, but that your motion may cause your leg to rub against the wheel. This is entirely the user’s fault and didn’t effect my rating, but a sudden onslaught of noise is a sudden onslaught of noise.

The Quality:
This headset is truly phenomenal. The sound quality is not to be compared. Well, except perhaps to a very expensive headset, but, who honestly has hundreds of dollars for something like that? Sadly, not I. I can hear my enemie’s footsteps and incoming vehicles, etc., with ease. It DOES improve your gaming. Or, rather, it allows you to become more immersed into whatever game you are playing, increasing your attention to the small details. And there are details. You really will never appreciate the sound capabilities of a game like BF3 or UC3 without a headset such as this one to consolidate the sound right into your ear canals.

Great value. I’ve done a lot of research. So save yourself some time and buy this headset. =)
